Interactive 3D Projects

"NanoQuest" 3D Serious Game

NanoQuest is an arcade game that was developed to increase the interest of secondary students in the field of Science, as part of a government drive to encourage students to take Science on as a subject.

The game incorporates various elements based on NanoTechnology, such as collecting Nano elements ( BuckyBalls, NanoWires ), and assembling a device using an AFM ( a machine that Nano scientists use ).

NanoQuest was nominated for the Irish Digital Media eLearning Award.

"The Resistors" 3D Experiments

We created several different 3D activities that were based ( in various amounts ) on tasks relating to the Irish secondary school curriculum.

Tasks include assembling a computer, creating Morse Code messages and adjusting sound curves.

This project was nominated for, and won, the Irish Digital Media eLearning Award.

EcoWorld 3D eLearning Game

EcoWorld was developed for CCEA ( the Northern Ireland exam body ) as a fun way to teach NI students about various ecological facts.

All of the action takes place in a 3D house, which the user can easily navigate throughout.  By collecting items and delivering them to their correct "eco" places, the user can earn points and play a number of smaller 2D Flash based activities.

CanDo delivered the 3D technical side of the project, and our colleagues at Big Gun delivered on the 3D modeling side.

Single Switch 3D Gaming - CRC F1

Developing a fun 3D game can be challenging enough - designing a game that can be played with a single button sounds nearly impossible!

With the help of students from the CRC Clinic in Dublin, we developed this fun 3D game that can be played by gamers with restricted movements ( eg head movement only ).  We went to great lengths to ensure that the game is quite a lot of fun to play for gamers of all abilities.

3D Virtual Armagh Planetarium Tour

How do you help Increasing footfall to an exhibition building?

The Armagh Planetarium team came up with a novel concept - allow website visitors to virtually tour around their new building and see how many cool exhibitions they have.

When those visitors get a feeling for the layout and activities, many of them will be more inclined to visit the building in real life.

3D eTraining "AirSim" Application

TruCorp, the company behind the innovative AirSim device, asked CanDo to create an easy to use interactive 3D application for their product.

The software synchs up with the actual device in real-time ( via bluetooth ), and shows the movements of the tracheal tube by the student user.

The software also allows the student to record their activity, and send it to their lecturer for playback and review.
